Sumgait basketball club head coach Ugur Ozdemir shared his thoughts following their opening victory over NTD, emphasizing that the team still has a long way to go.
AzB.az reports that the specialist reflected on the performance in their first game of the season:
"It was the first game of the season. Honestly, there were moments when our concentration dropped. This match served as part of our preparation process as well. We played well in patches, while at times we couldn't deliver the performance we wanted. However, winning was crucial for us, and I am glad we secured the victory."
Ozdemir also touched upon the team's future targets:
"This was just the beginning for us, and we will continue to work even harder. We want to keep giving our supporters and friends great victories to celebrate. Our plan is to move forward step by step. Because we assembled late and started preparations behind schedule, setting a concrete goal right now would be unrealistic. As time goes on, our objectives will naturally rise. Right now, our focus is to represent the city of Sumgait in the best possible way."
The match concluded with a 111:94 victory for Sumgait.
